Admission Requirements and Process
1. Application requirements
1) Undergraduate (in Chinese medium): Those who apply for this program must be graduates from high schools, aging from 17-30 years old, both physically and mentally healthy, and possess an HSK certificate at C level.If the applicants do not have the HSK certificate, they should pass the assessment of Chinese proficiency by our university. Otherwise, they are required to learn Chinese for one year first, and then apply.
2) Undergraduate (in English/Chinese-Japanese medium): The applicants must be gradates from high schools, aging from 18-30 years old, both physically and mentally healthy.
3) Postgraduate (M.S.): The applicants must hold a bachelor degree, below 40 years old, both physically and mentally healthy.
2. Application documents
1) The filled application form, which can be downloaded here: http://cmu.admissions.cn/
2) All the transcripts and certificates of relevant study experience.
3) Photocopy of the passport (both the photo page and the latest exit/entrance stamped visa page; if the passport hasn’t been used before, please submit the photo page and the first blank visa page).
4) Besides the above documents, the applicants for master degree programs need to submit a personal statement, which should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal, two letters of recommendation from professors (in Chinese or English). The letters must include professors’ phone number and email address.
3. Application process
1) The applicants need to submit all the required documents by fax or e-mail.
2) After checking the documents, CMU will send the scanned copy of the Acceptance letter to the qualified students.
3) The admitted students need to pay the non-refundable deposit 1000USD (application fee & part of tuition).Then CMU will process Student Visa Application Form (JW202 form) and issue it together with the formal Admission Notice.
4) Please present the JW202 form and the original copy of the Admission Notice to the local Chinese embassy/consulate to apply for student visa.
